Innovative thinking could come from the FSB, The Chamber of Commerce, The IOD and the CBI. They all need to put out to members, run think tanks and come up with something they can all go to the Minister with and speak with one voice. So, each of the small businesses out there should become members and lobby their membership organisation to address the issue.
Equally, for some years Government has ‘crowd sourced’ ideas through Innovate UK promoting innovation competitions to find technological solutions to a variety of product, technical, medical and other challenges. In the UK we have arguably the best professional services industry in the world. Would it not be a significant feather in the cap of EY, Deloitte, KPMG etc, so come up with a solution? After all they are among the most prominent business advisory firms in the world.
